A new milestone for sustainability: Fomet S.p.A. obtains certification for Carbon Footprint calculation

December is traditionally a month for taking stock: a time to reflect on the closing year and look forward with momentum to the one ahead, thanks in part to the Christmas break. But not at Fomet.

In fact, during the final two months of 2025, the HSE Office successfully completed third-party audits, obtaining certification according to Annex C of the UNI EN ISO 14067 standard: a result that validates the calculation model for the carbon footprint of Fomet fertilizers (Carbon Footprint of Product, Systematic Approach – CFP SA).

The UNI EN ISO 14067 standard allows for the transparent and detailed measurement of greenhouse gas emissions throughout a product’s entire life cycle, from raw material procurement to final distribution. This approach not only ensures methodological rigor but also strengthens transparency toward the market, providing customers and stakeholders with reliable and verifiable information on the environmental impact of products and encouraging increasingly informed choices throughout the entire supply chain.

Obtaining this certification, however, does not represent a finish line. In the coming months, a careful evaluation phase will begin in collaboration with the sales department to identify the products for which to start the Carbon Footprint calculation: a fundamental step to complete the product characterization process from a sustainability perspective as well.
