Fomet crosses borders: the Armònia patent presented to the scientific Microbiology community
Fomet made its mark at the International Conference on Microbiological Diversity 8th edition, organized by SIMTREA (Italian Society of Agro-Food and Environmental Microbiology), held in Rome on September 23-26, 2025, thanks to collaboration with the University of Bologna, particularly the Department of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies, which gave Elia Pagliarini, a doctoral candidate in the department, the opportunity to present the characterization work on Fomet’s manure matrix (Armònia®²), carried out over recent years.
It is an honor for Fomet to introduce the scientific community to the uniqueness of its process, Afrodite®¹, from which Armònia is born—a manure matrix rich in humic substances and beneficial microorganisms for crops, selected through slow and controlled fermentation. No air insufflation, no accelerated drying: control is entrusted to time and careful management of biological parameters. In this way, an active microbiological component is preserved and selected, playing a key role in the matrix’s balance.
The agronomic value of Armònia® is twofold: nutrition and biological stimulation. On one hand, the matrix provides fermented organic matter, rich in humic molecules, useful for supporting soil fertility; on the other, it introduces active microorganisms that act in the rhizosphere.
The advantage of Armònia® lies precisely in the fact that nutrient supply is combined with the presence of beneficial microorganisms, which enrich the soil without altering its balance. PGPR bacteria improve the bioavailability of nutrients, promote root absorption, and stimulate the production of molecular signals that enhance plant development.
Furthermore, the fermented and transformed matrix, rich in humic molecules, has shown positive effects on tolerance to abiotic stress, particularly water deficit, thanks to improved soil structure and its water retention capacity.
