Sustainable Fertilizer
21173 – Sustainable fertilizer from beef slaughtering biogas digested sludge. Digested sludge upgrading and converting into a recognized fertilizer
The NP Sustainable Fertilizer project aims to study and develop new fertilizers with high organic matter content for use in increasingly sustainable agriculture, capable of ensuring food security in terms of quantity and quality of produce, while also being mindful of environmental protection.
This European-level project stems from a virtuous collaboration between companies and universities and is part of the Smart Agrifood and European Green Deal initiatives. With its multidisciplinary approach, the project leader is INALCA, the absolute leader in Italy and one of the major European players in the beef sector, which together with partner FOMET will be responsible for the industrial development of new agronomic solutions that will be studied at the Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences and Technologies of Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna, the University of Hohenheim, Germany, and the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
